FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

United Way employees represented by CEP Local 900G voted tonight overwhelmingly in favour of strike action.
The 14 CEP members work in clerical, administrative support, as well as printing. The main issue for the workers is wages and vacations.
“This is an organization that works to help the community. You’d think they would give a helping hand to the workers who make it all possible,” said John Webster, Local 900G president.
National Representative Colin Lang said talks have broken off with United Way and none are scheduled.
CEP Local 900G represents about 400 workers in newspaper printing, graphic design and office supplies at several employers, including Sonoco. CEP represents 150,000 working people coast to coast in energy, paper, telecommunications, commercial print, media and graphical.
