Jim Britton, Wendy Sol and Don Boucher

Delegates to the 2008 CEP National Convention, held in Montreal last week, elected a new roster of officers.  Elected to the position of Vice President, Western Region was Brother Jim Britton.  Elected as Administrative Vice Presidents were Brother Don Boucher and Sister Wendy Sol.

Brother Britton is a 40 year member of CEP and its predecessor union and has been a National Staff Representative for 17 years.  Jim is from the Energy Sector.  Re-elected for the second time, Sister Wendy Sol begins her third term as Administrative Vice President for Communications.   Elected for his second term is Brother Don Boucher, who is the Administrative Vice President for the Pulp Sector.  All officers represent their sectors in all 4 western provinces.

Each officer spoke briefly to the delegates at the Western Region caucus Wednesday morning.  They were unanimous in their commitment to work together as officers and to work in the best interests of the members of the region.

The Rank and File Board members for the region are:  Brother Mark Cameron, Sister Donna Fauchoux, Brother Brent Reid, and Brother Terry Schneider.  Alternates are: Sister Angela Adams, Sister Amanda Freistadt, Sister Janet Ingram-Johnson and Brother Ian Simpson.

Returned as the National Women’s Committee representatives from the Western Region are Sisters Lara Acheson and Maria Shupenia.
